It’s never too early to start thinking about winter wellbeing and health of your employees. So why not consider organising workplace flu vaccinations?
There were some 34 million sickness absence days in the UK throughout 2016 due to minor illness, such as flu. So, now is the time to prepare your workforce against the virus before peak season arrives. The flu virus affects people of all ages including those who are otherwise healthy.
Alconbury Chemist can pre-order your flu vaccines and for a member of our team to visit your workplace. We’ll arrange a visit during the autumn to vaccinate your participating staff.
Most people can have a flu vaccine. However, there are a couple of exceptions:
- If you are currently unwell with a fever, you should delay getting the flu jab.
- If you have an egg allergy, speak to your GP or pharmacist before getting the jab.
We can also provide you with vaccination vouchers for you to give to your employees so that they can visit one of our local pharmacies at a time that suits them to receive the vaccination.
For 2020, it’s strongly recommended that everyone gets vaccinated if they can – especially if you were shielding during the coronavirus lockdown. Getting the flu vaccine in 2020 will also help reduce the strain on the NHS during flu season.
